t shirt scarf tutorial
These are VERY easy to make and take about 10 minutes from start to finish.
What you need:
*scissors
* large cotton t-shirt (cotton will stretch and that is exactly what we want)
1. Lay the t shirt flat on the floor.
2. Starting at the bottom: cut a 1 inch strip off the shirt ( you will be cutting the front and back of the shirt off at the same time. Your 1inch strip when cut will be a continual band, or a circle:)
3. Continue cutting off 1 inch wide strips until you get to the armpit area of the t shirt. ( you should have about 8-9 strip bands)
4. I usually cut off the sleeves and set them aside until the end. I also cut three 1inch strips from just the front of the t shirt ( above the arm pit area and below the neck ) - to make a braid accent
5. Take all of your 1 inch circle strips and hold one end of the band/ fabric strips in one hand and the other end in your other hand
6. Gently tug on the cotton. Pull your hands apart from eachother so that the fabric stretches. (They should get about twice as long)
7. Go to the bathroom and wrap the bands around your neck until you get the look you are going for ( the style options are endless)
8. Lay the braided accent over the scarf and then tie the bands and the ends of the braid together at the back of the neck area with the cut off sleeve pieces and VOILA!
you're done!
I made about 10 of these as Christmas gifts last year for friends and family. Don't be afraid to make yours unique- even if you mess up- it's just an old t shirt, right?

Busy but Blessed.
More times than not when I take our little family out to the store, the doctor's office
or grocery shopping, I hear this:
"Wow, you must be busy!"
These comments used to bother me but they don't anymore. Because God through His Word
has redefined for me what passionate womanhood really looks like.
.
He has shown me the importance of being a crown for my husband
and a patient, pure, worker at home. My presence is needed
and of crucial importance.
By God's grace we can mold and nurture our little ones to see their need for Christ,
know Christ and live for Christ.
By God's grace, we can be shaping the future!
So in answer to their comments I reply:
"Yes, I am busy, but I am also Blessed!

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand
of a warrior are the children of one's youth.
Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!
He shall not be put to shame
when he speaks with his enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127
Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves
to much wine. They are to teach what is good,
and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to
their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.
Titus 2
In His loving bonds, Meagan
